This International Women’s Day (Saturday the 8th of March), we want to celebrate the fantastic women that are the backbone of Dr. Bronner's ethical and sustainable supply chain practices.
One truly inspiring individual is Louise Topé, at the KANY Coop in Ghana, where we source our fair trade and organic cacao. Louise's dedication to sustainable farming and community empowerment is truly remarkable.
We're incredibly fortunate to have captured Louise's story in a series of video interviews, available in our Fair Trade playlist here. These videos offer a glimpse into her passion and the positive impact she's making.
And the celebration doesn't stop there! On March 12th, Louise will be hosting a webinar with Grow Ahead, called "Where Women Lead, Forests Thrive," in honour of International Women's Day. This webinar will delve into the vital role women play in environmental sustainability and community resilience. You can tune in here.
It’s worth noting the wonderful interconnectedness of it all. Ryan Zinn, from Dr. Bronner's Special Operations team, is also the Director of Grow Ahead, and Louise is a valued member of the Dr. Bronner's Special Operations team. This collaborative spirit showcases the strong partnerships that underpin our work. While our chocolate isn't available in the UK, Louise's story resonates with the experiences of countless women who contribute to our global supply chain.
Another remarkable woman we want to celebrate is Sonali Pandithasekara from Serendipol in Sri Lanka, our source for organic and fair trade coconut oil. Her story is beautifully captured in our "Journey to Serendipol" video, also found in the Fair Trade playlist here. Sonali's commitment to empowering coconut farmers and promoting sustainable practices is truly inspiring.
Thank you again to these women, as well as all the other women who make the Dr. Bronner’s machine work smoothly. They aren't just workers; they're leaders, innovators, and essential partners in our mission to create a better world.
